UMA Brought Wicked Stone, Stone Kings, Tarot Rats, Hair Trigger and Aylith’s Flag on the Same Bill for UMA Smashes Canterbury

Wicked Stone, Stone Kings, Tarot Rats, Hair Trigger and Aylith’s Flag gathered on November 24th at Chromos in Canterbury bringing music from the fun, alternative side with Aylith’s Flag to the heavy, gritty metal of Hair Trigger.

Aylith’s Flag came on stage and performed the soulful and catchy ‘Love Me’ which brought the band into the spotlight, a group of young, talented musicians competing with those who have been in the business for years and giving them a run for their money. They took the crowd by storm with their cover of ‘Bulls on Parade’ getting everyone involved and head banging. An announcement was made for the upcoming release of Aylith’s Flags debut EP ‘Holistic’ out next week, be sure to grab a copy as this is set to be a great EP.

Hair Trigger opened their set with their blues infused metal number ‘End of the Road’ off of their recently released debut EP. Members from rising doom metal band, Famyne who won Metal 2 the Masses and played Bloodstock, were in the crowd showing their support for other local bands. The set featured an extended version of the grungy ‘You Would’ and emotions were running high in the final track ‘Restrained’ where lead vocalist Jack Trevelyan was on his knees screaming into the microphone.

Returning to the local scene was blues rock band Tarot Rats who had a great stage presence interacting with every member in the crowd and climbing up onto the raised platform at the back of the room to get the ultimate spotlight position.

Stone Kings had the crowd going wild for their tracks ‘Headshot’ and ‘Captive Audience’ which saw hair flying everywhere. Lead vocalist Matt Clubb brought an energetic performance knocking over the mic stand towards the end of the set and they were met with a huge round of applause.

Wicked Stone closed the night performing tracks off their recently released debut album ‘Ain’t No Rest’  with hits such as ‘Hit It ‘n’ Quit It’ and ‘One Time’. The crowd fed off their energy with the alcohol flowing fast. Wicked Stone also paid tribute to the late Malcolm Young with a performance of ACDC’s ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ where the crowd were singing in his remembrance.
